Let's face it, you can plan all you want for this auction but things are hectic. $4.5m for Scooter Gennett was like trying out a gun for the first time and shooting off my toe, but at least I've got 9 more!
So I'll start by saying I've got some roster jealousy going with how Oakland's putting things together. Come on commish, don't hurt us! At least I'm on the other side of the standings.
There's 29 other teams, you know there's one that you're looking at right now going "oh shit, that was a good deal...how did I miss that?" a few times over...let's hear it.

Thanks Pirates. This is going to be hard because I like my team a lot but I also think these teams have a solid foundation:
Yankees Rays Tigers Angels Phillies Nationals

Don't like any team over my team personally but OAK is by far the closest.
WSH, ARI, and ChC have done quite nice as well

Given that acquiring young upside talent and maintaining payroll flexibility have been somewhat mutually exclusive in this auction setup, it's been interesting to me to see different teams' strategies when it comes to roster formation. Very different approaches across the league. But I'll echo the earlier posts that I like Oakland's roster a lot. Looking divisionally, there's a lot to like at the top of the NL East.
All that said, there are another dozen (or so) teams that have strong foundations of talent and some money to play with between now and the end of the auction. Depending on how those teams fill their remaining holes, I suspect a couple of powerhouses could emerge from that group. I'm just hoping those teams don't reside in the AL East...

Man, bunch of brown nosers in here ? I'll be the contrarian and predict the A's will finish last in the West. Okay probably not, but I do like the LAA to best them in division. Lots of buy low upside plays that could pay off big time and seems poised to have contributors from most slots.

I don't know about overall talent but my 2 favorite tandems in the league are Kersh and Fernandez for the Pirates and Correa and Bryant for the Padres. Took 55 mil to get the latter.

A's definitely are well put-together.

I definitely learned something the hard way with this auction, and I think Axel Rose said it best, "All we need is just a little patience."
PS. Glad my crappy pitching staff is not in the NL Central.

Even with the amount I paid, I'm really pleased with getting them both. I don't know if the strategy will pay off, but I really made it a point to land them under a certain amount, and I was able (barely) to do it. It might really backfire or it could really pay off if some of my lower paid players step it up. I hate the Yankees franchise in the real world. But if I could choose any lineup in the league, it would be those Yankees.

Just think, the Astros could have had both Correa and Bryant. The Astros took Correa #1 overall. The next year they could have had Kris Bryant. But instead chose Mark Appel #1 and Bryant went #2

Unfortunately in another dynasty league I'm in, the previous owner of the team I now control made the same mistake and took Appel over Bryant. I'm hoping that the Phillies can get Appel back on track.

I know I'm the GM of the Reds so I am def biased but I think my lineup and pitching staff are stellar. And young. I targeted young upside guys as much as possible. Surprised to see no one else likes us.

I am happy with how my roster and draft have come together but I am unhappy about my division. I don't know if I have one team that I like more than everyone else (If I do, it's the O's) but everyone in my division looks set to be competitive. Dang...

I'll concur. When this question was asked awhile back, I was eyeing the Red Sox and Orioles with concerns their cap room would help them build monsters. It did. Kudos to everyone in this division; I'll also concur that the Orioles might look to be the favorite... perhaps in the entire American League. Either way, it should be a tough division from top to bottom.
As a side note, it's ironic that I end up with the Yankees. I actually despise them. And yet I end up in a loaded AL East. The downside of being a last-minute replacement owner. ;-)
