Amateur Draft
The amateur draft will be held annually and begin the day after the final signing day for MLB draft picks. Only players who sign with an MLB team are eligible to be drafted in the SD amateur draft. Draft order will be determined by reverse prior year standings--the team with the worst H2H record will have the first pick, the team with the second worst record will have the second pick, and so on. In case of tie, first tiebreaker will be current year standings and second tiebreaker will be overall record over the previous two years. Random order for the first year. The draft order for the FIRST AMAT draft will be REVERSE order of the initial prospect draft. First year is also a snake draft.
The draft will consist of ten rounds. Each pick will be assigned a 24 hour draft slot. If a team has not made their pick by the end of their assigned draft slot, then the next team will be eligible to pick. The team who misses their pick will be auto-drafted according the next available drafted player. If you miss a pick, you must alert the commissioner that you plan on making your next pick (via message). If the commissioner is not informed that you will make your next pick after one has been missed, then the next pick will be auto-drafted.
Team will have 7 days after the conclusion of the AMAT draft to make the appropriate space on their minor league roster for the drafted players. Even if a team drafts a player, they do NOT need to add them to their minor league roster. If they are not added after the 7 day deadline then they are placed on waivers.
MiLB Draft
The minor league free agent draft will begin March 1st each year. Eligible players include minor league players that are not currently owned by another team in SD.
The MiLB draft will contain four rounds. Draft order will be the same as amateur draft. In the first year, order will be decided based off final 2016 record.

Rule 5 Draft
The Saber Dynasty Rule 5 draft will begin the day after the MLB Rule 5 Draft. Draft rules (order, time slots) will be the same as the amateur draft. Eligible players include any paid minor league player or any unpaid minor league player who meets all three of the following conditions:
(1) 4 or more years of service as denoted on league spreadsheet
(2) >23 years old as of November 31 (i.e., 23 years, 1 day qualifies)
(3) not on their team's 40 man roster
Players must be promoted to their team's 40-man roster before the Rule 5 cutoff date, which will be the 1 week before the Rule 5 draft begins. So, if the Rule 5 draft begins on Sunday, teams will have until 11:59 PM on the Sunday before to promote players they wish to protect.
A player is automatically Rule V eligible regardless of the above conditions if he meets the rookie minimums (130 ABs or 50 IPs).
Players selected in the Rule 5 draft must remain on the 25-man roster during the entirety of the regular season. The only exception is if the player is on the MLB DL, in which case the selecting team GM may place the player on the appropriate DL (15 or 60 depending on MLB status).
Initial Draft
The Initial Draft will be a snake draft based on a random order. All minor league players are eligible to be selected.
If a person misses their pick, they will have a chance to make it up at any time. However, their next pick will be skipped (not removed - just the next person can draft) unless they make up their previous pick or let me know they will be around to make the following pick.
