I'd post this in the Chatngo thing, but for some reason it doesn't load on my work computer, so I can't really do it there.
Anyways, I think we need to look at adjusting the time limits on the minor league draft. We're going painfully slow. We've been drafting for 19 days, and we've only gotten 52 picks in, which is less than 3 picks per day. At this rate, it would take us 450 days to get through the whole draft. That can't happen.
I've been in a lot of big leagues like this where we've done large scale drafts, and 12 hour clocks worked just fine. Yes, sometimes you are on the clock while you are asleep, but how many people are asleep for 12 hours? On top of that, with the site easily accessible on a smartphone, there is no reason that someone can't log in once every 12 hours. In the other leagues where we've done the 12 hour clock, yes, there were instances of people getting skipped. But we have a 24 hour clock right now, and people are getting skipped at pretty much the same rate that I've seen in other leagues where there is a 12 hour clock.
I know the idea for submitting 10 or so picks to Justin each morning was thrown around, and I think it was stated that we might implement that in later rounds. But maybe starting in round 3 we can move the clock to a 12 hour window instead of 24? I don't know if this suggestion is the best, but something definitely needs to be done because the draft is moving at a glacial pace.

I'm alright with this once round 3 begins.

Yeah, I think it could cause people to lose interest. I have found myself there already. Love the idea of it but man......slooooooooow.

I'm just throwing this out, but one idea that has worked really well for me as the commissioner of other leagues is to establish a daily schedule once we get out of the first few rounds. Every day, a daily schedule is posted with, say, four-hour windows during "normal" hours (we could adjust the windows as the draft moves later). If a team hasn't picked by the time their window is up, the draft just moves forward and that team can pick at any time. If everyone is up to speed, then the draft just rolls along. By almost forcing 3-5 picks a day, I've found it keeps people involved.
I've found the practice to work quite well, but it's just an idea. It also somewhat depends on whether we're all in North America, which I don't know. But if we're all within 3-4 hours of each other, then finding a common timeframe to establish a schedule (say, 12pm-10pm EST) should be rather straight forward.
Anyway, just an idea. No worries from my end either way.

I agree we should implement a 12 hour window ASAP. Maybe we cut the window in half every 2 rounds.

Just because it came to mind, just a reminder to everyone to PM the next guy OTC and not just say in your post that they are next up. I know I always do, but sometimes people might forget.

I agree, 12 hour is the way to go. The deeper we get even if you miss your window and the other manager sneaks in before you, are they really likely to get the guy you were going after?

I like the PM idea.
I'm fine with a 12 hour window for the later rounds.
